CONTROVERSY OF CHRISTMAS / MERRY CHRISTMAS

THE INSTITUTION OF CHRISTMAS HAS A LOT OF CONTROVERSY.
All i can say is that most institutional  doctrine of Roman Catholic Church has been attacked by the brake away churches including Christmas which was labelled pagan origin. Reading all the submissions in the net will convince you.

Many people today disassociated themselves from celebrating it because of its pagan mix up origin and because it is not in the bible, neither did Christ institute same or His Apostles and the early church governed by the Holy Spirit.

The two words that made up the name is CHRIST AND MASS. Christ we know but Mass by Oxford dictionary defined it as a Roman Catholic institution of celebrating the last supper instituted by Jesus Christ, which is called Holy Communion.

The name would have suited more for the celebration of our Lord's death than birth day. But be that as it may those that caved out this word for birth day may also have in mind what that word means to help adherents celebrate the birth of our Saviour.

In celebrating one need to examine himself or herself by asking oneself if i really know whom am celebrating.

You cannot celebrate whom you do not know and who will not appreciate your celebration, so we need to have Him first of all then you have course to celebrate. If you do not have Him and you are celebrating your celebration will be classified to the original ceremony of the pagans that started it.

I will use this opportunity to wish those who have our Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord Merry Christmas and for those who still do not have Him as their Lord to quickly do so, for more catastrophe is hanging around, the evil workers are multiplying by the day and in that kingdom the practice is survival of the fittest and trampling of the feet and it is the strongest that survive.

Remember we all are destined to die, but the different is that the death of an over comer is different from the defeated. The master of the over comer is Christ Jesus, while the loser is Satan and you know the inheritances of both masters, Heaven and Hell Fire.

Once again i say congratulations and merry Christmas to the over comers, while i warn those in the wrong side of life to redecide to join Jesus Christ Train today for tomorrow may be too late.

I remember Justice Kuti aired "JUDICIARY SHOULD BE FIERCELY INDEPENDENT” (The Guardian 2^nd August 2016)

My Question is when are we going to achieve this?

When will justice, equity, fairness and the rule of law rule the Nigerian State?

Why can’t  judiciary have enough power to execute the judgment they give?

Is it possible to achieve justice, checks and balances in a country whose Constitution gave the appointment of the highest judicial officers to the president on the recommendation of National Judicial Council subject to the Senate confirmation?

What about the States? When will they stop interfering in the appointment of judges, their duties and disobeying judicial orders.?

GOVERNMENT HAS RENDERED JUDICIARY USELESS IT IS NO LONGER THE HOPE OF COMMON MAN BUT FOR THE RICH AND MIGHTY.

WHAT EFFRONTERY WILL ANY JUDGE APPOINTED BY GOVERNMENT USE TO ADMINISTER JUSTICE AND FAIR PLAY ON THOSE THAT APPOINTED HIM OR HER WHEN THE ISSUES OF OFFICIAL CORRUPTION AND GROSS MISCONDUCT COMES UP?

Will there not going to be phone calls from the president, governors and the executives to these judges ordering them about doing their bidden?

Judiciary can only be fiercely independent only when they are left alone to practice their trade uninfluenced by both executives and the legislators and the high and mighty in the society.

National Judicial Council should be left alone, they can do the appointments or election base on merits, hard works and seniority. It is on that they can do their work without fear or favour.

I am among those clamouring on the change of this present Constitution, it is too unreasonable for it concentrated all power on the president and made him lord of everything.

STATE JUDICIAL COMMISSION are not doing enough monitoring on the Magistrates and judges that is why some courts are dead, bribery and corruption being the other of the day they even choose when to come to court and absent themselves as if they are working without pay.

All over the world court officers are under check to curb the issue of corruption but that is not true in Nigeria. Every government officer do what seems good to him or her and that is why the economy is in recess. They collaborate to engage in corporate stealing and has succeeded in bankrupting the nation and the nation is going into slavery in borrowing. Imagine World Bank still advising the nation to further devalue her naira that is already going dead because we are begging for more loan.

 If a registrar of the court is collecting bribe of course the public will attribute it to the judge or the magistrate, some say that it is the judge or the magistrate that ordered them to collect it on their behalf as police station men on the read to do same for their oga. Lagos State magistrate court registrars are comparing the amount collected by lawyers in fixing the amount of bribe they want to collect when doing bail and other issues, that is one of the reason bail has become difficult and thereby leading to prison congestion and some magistrates are less perturbed in moving on with hearing talk less of accelerated hearing on those who have no means of perfecting their bail. Transferring of judges and magistrates frustrates justice and at times totally destroy it because the case file lost on transit or abandoned somewhere because the complainants and their lawyers has not pay the registrar to move the file to the court the judge or magistrate is transferred to.

No judge or magistrate can blame any lawyer for their failure for as the person of judge and magistrate is, so is the court. No lawyer messes with a good judge or magistrate. They blame lawyers for frivolous adjournment, but the judge or magistrate has the inherent power to refuse such frivolities or at worst give a very shot one if he/she sees good reason for the adjournment.

Why would a magistrate give two months adjournment in a matter when like in Lagos State the life span of any case is three months?

Why are Lagos State judiciary not obeying the three month life span of a case stipulated by the new Magistrate Court Laws of Lagos State? We know it may not be feasible in some matters but some cases can be disposed  of within three months, giving one month for judgment. Some good magistrates give summary trials in some cases that are brought before them and they achieve a lot of justice with that for the court is of summary nature and it helps in quick dispensation of justice and reduces delays and denials.

WHAT CAN THE JUDICIARY DO TO BE FIERCE, INDEPENDENT AND ACHIEVE THE RULE OF LAW IF NOT FOUND IN THEIR PERSONALITY DRIVE?

With the current sour taste of judiciary among Nigerians it is time to change the Constitution and cut of the hand of the Executives from appointing and confirming the appointment of the highest seat of justices to eliminate unnecessary undue influence in the execution of their duties after all the Legislators and the Senators chooses their leaders by themselves. Judiciary and the NJC should be left alone, they are the God of justice we have and an evil executive cannot appoint and confirm a good and fierce judge, they will consider those in their cult and clicks.

IT IS TIME TO AMEND NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION TO REFLECT OUR NEW DEMOCRATIC DEVELOPMENT OR ELSE LET EACH REGION GO THEIR SEPARATE WAYS.

DO NOT PERVERT JUSTICE OR SHOW PARTIALIITY. DO NOT ACCEPT A BRIBE, FOR A BRIBE BLINDS THE EYES OF THE WISE AND TWISTS THE WORDS OF THE RIGHTEOUS. 

FOLLOW JUSTICE AND JUSTICE ALONE, SO THAT YOU MAY LIVE AND POSSESS THE LAND THE LORD YOUR GOD IS GIVING YOU. DEUTERONOMY 16:19-20.

ISHMAEL AND ISAAC IN BROTHERHOOD WE STAND

 

 ISHMAEL = THE LORD HAS HEARD THY AFFLICTION.

Today as we join all Muslims to celebrate, we pray that the meaning of Ishmael “The Lord has heard thy affliction” be Nigeria’s portion indeed. Amen.

GENESIS CHAPTER 16:1-15.

The Holy Scripture of truth states in the above verses in summary as follows:-

Abraham remains childless and Sarah his wife gave him her maid Hagar as wife. Hagar became pregnant and despised her mistress which led to her mistress maltreatment. She fled into the wilderness and angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the way of Shur and declared thus unto her, “Return to thy mistress and submit thy self under her hands. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, verse 10,” I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. Verse 11, And the angel of the Lord said unto her, behold thou art with a child and shall bear a son and shall call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction, VERSE 12 “And he will be a wild man his hand will be against every man and every man’s hand against him, and he  shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.” 

God indeed has spoken and no man can question Him. 

It is trite that what God said here is how it has been with polygamous homes, but I also have seen some polygamous homes that are peaceful as a result of submissiveness and love.

This singular mistake was made long ago and it was and has been the will of God to reconcile man back to Himself and has done so but has not been given wild acceptance and the conflicts still continued.

God’s ordination is that all Abraham’s children must live together. While we live together must this conflicts continue, must we continue to destroy one another for what each person believe in? Did God’s commandments not bind all of us? Are we going to face different God at the end of the day?

God purpose in verse 12, is not that both children should be killing themselves but that both shall be a point of correction to each other.  Chapter 18:19, states that  “For I know him (Abraham) that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him.”

What did God spoke about Abraham? Chapter 12:3, states “And I will bless them that bless thee, and I will curse him that curseth thee;  and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Abraham became a friend of God just because he obeyed God. God/Allah began to rely on him to teach his children the ways of the Lord, and God ordained it that Abraham’s children will now teach other families the ways of the Lord.

Obedient spirit, following the foot step of our Father Abraham is what God requires of us. God set government in motion as the instrument  of correction among us, therefore there is no reason for jungle justice and taking laws into our hands. Abraham was not a killer neither did he lay it down to us as a legacy.

Abraham is watching us as his children and taking record of our deeds, at the end of this life he is going to welcome in his bosom the children that took his footsteps. Ishmael and Isaac were both circumcised as a sign of seal to God’s covenant to their father and they inherited that covenant, so those that obey this everlasting covenant will be welcomed by Abraham and he will present them to God.

LETS RESPECT EACH OTHER’S FAITH AND LIVE IN THE LOVE OF BROTHERHOOD WHICH BEGAN WITH OUR FATHER ABRAHAM. LETS’ FORGET OUR MOTHER’S MISTAKES THAT LED TO ALL THESE HATRED. MAY GOD HEAR OUR AFFLICTION AND SEND HIS HELP UPON THIS NATION.

THE PRIESTLY PERSPECTIVE

It is a hard times indeed all over the world as we mourn people killed in terrorists attacks.

The world also has delve into the political history of such mass killings amongst others to discover the brain behind such heinous killings one will posit reasons as being political power, economic power, religious power, hatred e.t.c. but has concluded that with all diligence no reason should be enough to justify all these human waste.

The world witnessed holocaust, perpetuated in Germany by one whose ambition is to conquer the world and rule therein but that he hated a tribe and wanted its extermination is another thing altogether.

Countries has also experienced genocides caused by ambitious leaders who want to cling to power by all means.

The foundation of killing started in the garden of  Eden, by Cain who became jealous of his brother Abel’s success. Since then the world know no peace.

The world was drawn to other types of killing in the Holy Bible and such killings was either ordered  by God or done to appease His anger.

In Numbers 25:1-13, the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness on their way to Canaan Land, and abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab and joined them to serve Baal. God became angry and started to destroy the Israelites. The Israelites began to seek the face of God to avert His anger, another  man went and took a Moabite woman as a sin partner and Phinehas became angry, took a javelin and trust them through in the tent and they died. God spoke to Moses in verse 10, “And the Lord spake unto Moses saying, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned My wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for My sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in My jealousy, wherefore say, Behold I give unto him My covenant of peace, And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was  zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.”

From the above we can see that there are killings that appeases God  and the ones that He frowns at. God frowns at the killing of an innocent man and He orders the killings of a sinner that has refused to repent, He can do that spiritually or physically using a human instrument.

We have examples of people who murderered innocent ones for jealousy and envy,  Cain, Jezebel who killed innocent  Naboth  to covet his land, King Saul who killed the priests because he envied David and so many others, there are others who were consumed and killed at the presence of Moses, Elijah, Elisha e.t.c.

WHERE DOES OMAR MATEEN BELONG IN THESE.?

When people indulge in sin and think that God will keep quiet, then they are mistaken.

The people of Sodom indulged in sodomy and God sent angels in form of humans to destroy the city with brimstone and fire. In our world of today people resume the act of sodomy and were exporting it to other parts of the world just to provoke the destruction of the world. I remember when they landed in Nigeria, they went straight to the National Assembly to prevail on them to have a bill of gay passed into law, they really shook the entire nation. America took it to herself to sell it to Mr, Goodluck Jonathan and Mr. Muhammed Buhari as a condition for  help, she was told that the culture is against Nigeria’s public policy. 

My question is, between Gays and Omar Mateen who killed each other?

When people indulge in various kinds of sin, the innocent suffers in various ways, the growing innocent children are the most endangered, for they will think it is a normal norm and they will grow to emulate same. when God’s punishment come the whole people suffers, that is why our world is full of suffering today. So many conflicts between the Wheat and the Tares.

Omar Mateen has paid his debt, the world is trying to discover who he is, but the only testimony that is accruing to him is given by his father who said that Mateen hates to see where two men are kissing. Sin destroy our world so fast and the enemy of Creator right now is happy for man’s staying away from God and the devastation that is ongoing.

Many will be facing the charges of murder, holocaust, genocide before God, while others like Mateen will be facing the charge of abatement of nuisance, but all judgement remain God’s discretion.

There is only two life, a life of everlasting destruction and a life of everlasting life with God.

MISFORTUNE OF A FORGOTTEN IDENTITY (THE IGBO NATION)

THE CLAIM TO BE AN ISRAELITE 

How then have you forgetten your identity and God's purpose for your life. 

God called you out of an idol nations and settled you in a Igbo land. He cleansed you, made you to be His own and guarded you with jealousy everywhere you go because you are His, He makes a way for you where there is no way.

He bless you with extraordinary wisdom and excellent spirit and prowess and had wanted you to remain His own so you can be a god to other nations to teach their senators wisdom as He did to Joseph in Egypt and Daniel in Babylon but you have continued to slip out of His hands. 

At a time we left God and played the whore and provoked Him to anger which made Him cast us out with a judgement that led to destruction of millions during the Nigerian-Biafran war, we did not learn our lesson. 

Today some among us are Balaam, they go about teaching Balac how to cast a stumbling block among us teaching us how to eat things sacrifice to idols and to commit fornication, Revelation 2:14, Revelation 2:20, Numbers 31:16, Acts 15:29 God have every gut to judge us in His jealousy and will pour His cup of wrath upon us if we do not repent. 

A chosen people, carried with an eagle wings are crying that they are in bondage, they have left God to have an ungodly alliance with the people of other nations who know not God, the people they should be a god to.

             Can you just put it to God, your bondage claims after God have suffered on the cross for you to give you a sweet and honey life. 

Thus says the Lord "tell me why I  should not answer your claims of bondage and sell you out to the band of marauders for destruction. Tell me what I need to do for you that I have not done, if not that you left your former love and played the harlot to other nations and their gods. Now that My Calvary cross for you is not good enough, My daily endeavours to point the right things to you is not good and you have heap up rabbi, pastors and prophets who speaks their own words to you which is what you desire and want to hear, whom I did not send. Their words are now better that mine words, then let them deliver you from the troubles and disasters that await you".

God is warning us as He warned in the time of old. Isaiah 17:12 states "woe to the multitude of many people which make a noise like the noise of the seas, and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters...God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountain before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind". God is ready to rebuke noise makers. 

We are in the dispensation of grace, no nation has been able to hold unto God as their leader and no leader has been able to hold the nation and its people as Gods own, every body is individualistic and selfish because of lack of knowing God, and that is why an unholy gathering of noise makers and politicians shall not stand but will end in ruin. 

The physical Israelites are reserve for time and purposes and still expecting Messiah. While the gentiles or spiritual Israelite are already in the dispensation of grace gotten from salvation that comes from the cross and that cross is persecution, so where is the place of freedom from bondage fighters coming from? You are being arouse by Satan to make an unholy noise so that he can destroy you seeing that you are qualified for destruction for transgression sake.

The history of Israelite whether physical or spiritual is never in any bondage because we are a free born, the physical Israelite of today in Palestine in spite of their aggressive neighbours were never in bondage but were punish by God from time to time because of their idol worshiping, secondly because God wanted them to be scattered all over the world to showcase His glory, to teach and to show example to others and that is why God put that Law that we should not maltreat the aliens among you.

It is not the will of God for all this noise makers who are agitating for freedom to do so, it is a misfortune and misadventure. 

         The peace and the foundation of Nigerian independence rest with a precious stone Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe who is an Igbo man, he conceded  his right to bring peace to the nation. The third term bid agenda of former president Olusegun Obasanjo that would have caused another civilian coup and disrupt our kindergarten  democracy was averted by Igbo man, that we have not become a president of this great nation is not man made but Gods' will so we should not force ourselves to get it before Gods time.

God has endowed us with peace and a peaceful man is a man of independence, self control and a center of gravitational force, they are the center peace of this nation and i feel it is enough endowment.

Why are we not contended with our Gods given role in this enclave called Nigeria? 

Igbo nation by creation is republican in nature because God made it so for we are His and He is our only ruler and that is why in the nation Nigeria we are known not to be good in politics and will never be good in politic so any effort by force will hit the Rock. It is a high time for us to know Gods' purpose, our placement, our role in this nation and to abide in it, for our claims to be the Israelite be materialized. One man sinned and the whole world came under sin, a man of righteousness died to save mankind. So as a man conceded his right to bring independence and that right has been despised and taken as weakness. A man will come by God appointed time to restore the right without war but in peace.

God knows how to give us what we want but that is not without repentance.

Look unto me all you ends of the earth for I am God and there is no other says the Lord.

THIS IS ALSO THE POSITION OF EVERY CHRISTIAN.

UNIVERSAL JUSTICE STATES "DO TO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE OTHERS TO DO TO YOU" OUR LEADERS SHOULD BE REASONABLE IN HANDLING NIGERIAN ISSUES.

WE SHOULD BEAR IN MIND THAT ALL THE PEOPLE EXISTED BEFORE NIGERIA WAS JOINED IN 1914.

WE SHOULD ALSO REMEMBER THAT THE LAND USE ACT WAS ANOTHER CREATION OF MAN IN 1978. ALL THESE WAS NEVER A CREATION OF GOD. 

SO WHY DO GOVERNMENT FIND IT SO DIFFICULT IN PUTTING NIGERIA TOGETHER AND AVOID ALL THESE CRISES? 

DO NIGERIANS CONTINUE TO BE KILL OVER AN ISSUE WE CAN COME TOGETHER AND RESOLVE.

HOW DEMOCRATIC ARE WE WHEN WOUNDED PEOPLE CANNOT BE APPEASED AND THEIR WOUNDS HEALED.

WHY ARE WE INFLICTING MORE WOUNDS ON OURSELVES?

CAN WE JUST ALLOW GOD TO HAVE HIS WAY WHEN ALL OUR EFFORTS HAVE FAILED AS NIGERIANS AS OUR LEADERS HAS FAILED US.

FOUNDATION OF JUSTICE

GOD, THE SOURCE OF JUSTICE

SECTION 36(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended states that "in the determination of his civil rights and obligations, including any question or determination by or against any government or authority, a person shall be entitled to a fair hearing within a reasonable time by a Court or other tribunal established by Law and Constituted in such manner as to secure its independence and impartiality. 

From this section the age long principle of natural justice of fair hearing is derived.

This is part of the pillars that support the concept of the rule of Law.

In our administration of justice we have two pillars that support fair hearing :-

1.  AUDI ALTERAM PARTEM RULE:- This is a Latin maxim that says that a party to any dispute must be heard before a decision can be given against him. 

2.   NEMO JUDEX IN CAUSA SUA :- Which means no one should be a Judge in his own cause. 

Any breach of these principle result in the nullity of the entire proceedings no matter how well conducted it may appear. 

A hearing/trial can only be said to be fair when all parties to the dispute are given a hearing or an opportunity of a hearing. 

These two pillars was copied from the principles laid down by God in Adam and Eve trial in the garden of Eden and Cain's trial after murdering his brother. 

God gave Adam and Eve a fair hearing in the garden. 

He did not condemn before hearing from them. 

He allowed them to defend themselves by stating their own side of the story. 

Serpent was punished for misleading them with his evil intention and misleading them with lies. 

Adam was punish for having an intention to eat and for eating the fruit. this is the principle of Law called the ACTUS REUS and MENS REA. God computed intention to eat the fruit to Adam that is why his blame on Eve did not exonerate him. He could not prove it was a mistake, or he was asleep or drunk or alibi (not being around) or an accident. As for Eve her intention and action to eat was complete and so God's punishment came on all.

As for Cain, the innocent blood cried to God for vengeance before God descended to try Cain. 

God also warned him before he committed the offence and after that God tried him by asking him a simply question " where is thy brother". His answer betrayed him and show total hatred of his brother. God passed this judgment on him and he appeal to God that his sentence is too harsh on him, that being a wanderer on earth people will kill him, so God place a mark on him to prevent him being killed as he wanders about.

That is why when people are convicted the Judge orders for allocutors in our court so that the Judge can mitigate  or reduce the punishment. 

In Our Testament God committed all advocacy and Judgement to Christ, to avoid being bias (that is being a Judge at his own course) while Satan is the prosecutor. That is why we adopted accusatorial legal system. 

The prosecutor accuses and proves their case beyond reasonable doubt. with these submission I think I have been able to convince you that our constitution pivot from the Holy Bible and must be treated with sacrosanct and the principles therein observed with fear and trembling by the courts or face God's wrath at the end of the day.
